When I chaffered with my friend, the topic went to Sathyam scandal. Obviously now, that is the hot topic and we can easily forget this after few days (or) once we get the next hot topic (Ramalinga raju will come out from jail and enjoy his rest of life with huge looted amount!!!)

My friend distressed and need loans to improve his business. Most of the time he surprised and expressed his unhappiness with the word “Ellam Kali kalam” and “Kali muthivittathu”

Do you know really what it means?

Hinduism explains the time calculation in relative terms to the life time of ‘Lord Brahma’ – the birth God!

His ‘Life time’ is defined as – 100 ‘Brahma’ years with 360 days per year – equivalent to 432 crore ‘earth’ years; His ‘night’ also constitutes of such 432 crore ‘earth’ years;

The end of a ‘DAY’ of brahma, is the universe’s end (the d-day!). Then ‘Lord Brahma’ sleeps for his ‘night’ time (another 432 crore years!). When his next DAY starts, the universe again starts a new cycle of life and evolves for the next 432 crore years!

Every ‘day’ of Brahma is split into 14 parts – each called as a ‘Manvanthra’. There is a head for every ‘Manvanthra’ called ‘The Manu’. The current time frame comes under the ‘Seventh Manu’ named ‘Vaivasvatha’.

Every Manvanthra constitutes of 71 Maha Yugas; 4 yugas constitute one Maha-yuga. The following are the yuga calculations;

Krutha yuga - 17,28,000 Years
Thretha Yuga - 12,96,000 Years
Dwapara Yuga - 8,64,000 Years
Kali Yuga - 4,32,000 Years

A above total of 43,20,000 years constitute a ‘Maha-yuga’.

Each Manvanthra has 71 Maha Yugas; and there are 14 Manvanthras; So 14 X 71 = 994 Maha-Yugas; 6 Maha-yugas are given for the transition period of every Manvanthra to the next; so: 994 Maha-Yugas + 6 Maha-yuga makes to 1000 Maha-Yugas. This is called a ‘Kalpa’ and constitutes Bhrahma’s One DAY. Currently we are in ‘Swetha varaha kalpa’.

To understand better, if we start from the lowest denomination:

1 Maha-Yuga = 43,20,000 Years;
One Manu’s period (Manvanthra) consists 71 Maha-Yugas: 71 X 43,20,000 = 30,67,20,000 Years
There are 14 Manvanthras: 14 X 30,67,20,000 = 429,40,80,000 Years;
6 Maha-Yugas for Manvanthra’s transition:6 X 43,20,000 = 2,59,20,000 Years;
Add the above for 14 Manu’s period: 429,40,80,000 + 2,59,20,000 = 432,00,00,000 (432 crore) Years; which equivalent to BRAHMA’S ONE DAY!

Apart from these calculations, our need is really we are in the end of Kali yuga? When the “Kali yuga” started?

As per these calculations, "Kali Yuga" began at midnight (00:00) on18 February 3102 BCE. We are now the year of 2009. Approximately “Kali yuga” began 1093 years BC. The cycle of “Kali yuga” is 4,32,000 years. so, we just entered to “Kali yuga” ( 4,32,000 – 3102 = 428898 years remaining )

So, don’t worry. Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

பனி விழும் மலர் வனம்!!! 10-ஜனவரி-09 நாளின், பொன்பனி மாலை பொழுது இது. தூர நின்று பார்த்தல் சுகம். சூடான காபியும் கொரிக்க ஏதாவது, கூட பனி விழும் மலர் வனம், இது ஒரு பொன் மாலை பொழுது என்று இளையராஜா + SPB + வைரமுத்து பாட்டும் இருந்தால் சுகமோ சுகம் பரம சுகம்.

என்ன, கால நிலை கட்டுப்பாட்டினால் நம்மூர் மாதிரி சட்டையை கழட்டி வீசி விட்டு கையை தூக்கி சொரிந்து கொண்டே சுதந்திரமாய் சுற்றி வந்து சுகப்பட முடியாது.

Very much shocked as like every one, to hear about the Sathyam collapse. Really I could not even believe many things, how it has been happen!!!

Every one refers it is like a Enron scandal in US. I am not agreeing with that. The Indian economic policies, business mode, corporate culture etc., all differs from US. May be they are dealing with US and Europe clients. But commonly our folks are self conscious and believing almighty. I am saying in a common perspective the critic is always apart. I desire to share below few things.

Many had suspected that Ramalinga Raju and family were heavily leveraged at a personal level, stuck in property and thus needed a bail-out. Nobody, however, I think suspected that Satyam itself was a fraud, with no cash and a non-existent margin structure. Raju’s letter implies that the company is basically unprofitable at a net level, and made no money over the last few years. How can Satyam, with 50,000 employees and global scale, make no money at all, when even mid-tier mediocre IT companies make atleast 10 per cent operating margins? How can this fraud be going on for years? How can the auditors not have confirmed cash balances, and that too of Rs 5,000 crore? Cash is supposed to be real, profit an accounting fiction, but here the cash itself was fraudulent

I still find it difficult to believe that Satyam actually makes no money, even though the revenues, clients and employees are real. How is it that a company with a scale of 50,000 employees, which pays employees industry standard wages and has billing rates comparable to industry standards, makes no money when TCS, Infosys and Wipro make 25-30 per cent operating margins? Even mid-tier companies with only 5,000 employees make 10-15 per cent margins. If Satyam really makes no money, what accounts for the margin leakage? Where are its costs out of line? Is money being sucked out of the company? Was Raju really willing to shortchange himself and family to bail out a company in which he had no more then an 8 per cent stake (as he claims he wanted to do by merging Maytas)?

Similar way of corporate Intentional deception, I read recently that “Pramid Sai Meera” case. Even I have expressed my wonder with few of my friends that, how the people come up with new ideas to do cheating

The CA institute has to tighten standards and move against proven incompetence. The only way to win back people/ investor confidence is for justice to be done quickly and the punishment be severe enough to instill fear and disincentives corporate fraud. In the case of Enron both the company and its auditors (Arthur Anderson) went out of business. I am just providing below the Enron and PriceWaterCooper links. Have a look.

Related to this I read few news that, “Ramalinga Raju website sinks without trace. Almost” and resume updation in Naukri / Monster by Sathyam employees. Last couple of days the updation rate gone upto 15000 resumes per day and out of five one is Sathyam employee!!!.

சமீபத்தில் என்னை வெகுவாய் பாதித்த மற்றுமொரு விஷயம் இந்த விடியோ. 12-11-08 அன்று சென்னை சட்டக்கல்லூரியில் நடந்த நிகழ்வு. செய்தி பழசாகிலும் இந்த காட்சிகளை பார்க்கும் துர்-வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தது இப்பொழுதுதான். நம் சமூகத்தின் பல பகுதிகள் இன்னமும் காட்டுமிராண்டி கூட்டமாய்தான் இன்னமும் இருக்கிறது என்பதற்கான சாட்சி.

கைகட்டி நின்ற காவல்காரர்களை சொல்லுவதா? இல்லை கை வலிக்கும் வரை அடித்தவர்களை சொல்லுவதா? என்ன வேண்டுமானாலும் செய்திருக்கலாம் அதற்காக இப்படியாய் அராஜகம் செய்வது!!! தெருவில் விழும் மனிதனை தூக்கிவிடும் நம் மனது கூட, கடமை இருக்கும் இவர்களிடம் இல்லையே என்ற மலைப்பு ஏற்பட்டது. படித்தவன் அயோக்யத்தனம் செய்தால் அய்யோ என்று போவான் என்று சாபமிட்டு சாதாரணமாய் செத்துப்பொன மஹாகவியை நினைதத பொழுது நம்மால் எதுவும் செய்ய இயலாது என்ற நிதர்சனம் உரைத்தது. இவர்கள் இப்பொழுதுதான் படிக்க ஆரமித்து இருக்கிறார்கள்.

ஜெயா டிவி இதை அவர்கள் பிரசாரத்திற்கு உபயோகப்படுத்தி கொண்டாலும் அந்த இருவர் வாங்கிய அடி நிஜம். நம்மால் எதுவும் செய்ய இயலாது என்ற நிதர்சனம் புரிந்து போனதால், அடுத்த நாள் செய்ய வேண்டிய வேலையான டாட் நெட்டும், டேடாபேசும் மனதை நிறைத்தன

அபியும் நானும் திரைப்படம் நெட்ல் பார்க்க வாய்ப்பு ஏற்பட்டு பார்தேன். பெரும்பாலும் நெட்ல் பார்பதை தவிர்த்து விடுவேன். ஆடியோ/ விடியோ க்வலிடி என்பதுதான் காரணம். தற்சமயம் வேறு வழியில்லை. திருட்டு வீடியோ என்பதால், தயாரிப்பாளரும், படைப்பாளிகளும் நினைவுக்கு வருவதை தவிர்க்க முடியவில்லை. கடைதேய்ங்காயை எடுத்து வழிப்பிள்ளையாருக்கு உடைத்து விட்டார்கள். பசித்தவன் பொறுக்குவது சரியா தப்பா என்று தெரியவில்லை. எந்த லிங்க்ல் படம் பார்த்திர்கள் என்று கேட்க வேண்டாம். அது ஊரரிந்த ரகசியம்.

திரைப்படத்தை பொறுத்தவரை ஒரிரு சினிமாத்தனங்களை தவிர்த்து விட்டு பார்ததால் மிக நல்ல படம். தொடர்சியாய் நல்ல படங்களை கொடுக்க முயலும் இயக்குநரை மனதார பாராட்டலாம்.

காலம் யாருக்காகவும் நிற்பதில்லை. 2008 இப்பொழுதுதான் ஆரமித்ததுபோல் இருக்கிறது. இந்த வருட கணக்கு ஆங்கில முறை என்றாலும் மூக்கு கண்ணாடி, கால்சட்டை போல் இதுவும் ஏற்கப்பட்டுவிட்டது. ஊருடன் கூடி வாழ்வோம். புத்தாண்டு வாழ்த்துக்கள்
